Effective date: August 10, 2026
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have. We never sell your data.
When you sign up as a host or apply for a booth, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and location. This lets us create your account, match you with local fairs, and send you important updates about your event.
Hosts provide details about their fairs: venue, date, description, and photos. Booth applicants share information about their business idea. This is what makes the platform work, connecting entrepreneurs with fairs in their community.
Some applicants submit short audition videos as part of the application process. These are stored securely via our file hosting provider and are only visible to fair hosts reviewing applications.
For the safety of the young entrepreneurs at our events, we run background checks on hosts through a third-party provider (Checkr). We do not store the results of these checks on our servers. Checkr maintains its own privacy policy.
We collect standard web analytics (pages visited, browser type, device, general location) to understand how people use our site and to improve the experience. This data is aggregated and not tied to your identity.
We use the information we collect to:
We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
Text messages are sent by Spacebar Company OÜ (Page Bird), which operates this platform for the Acton Children's Business Fair.
If you provide your phone number and agree to receive text messages, we may send you SMS updates about your own application, account, or fair. These include application status updates, event reminders, and day-of logistics. Message frequency varies based on your application and event activity. Message and data rates may apply.
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third party.
You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message, or reply HELP for assistance. Agreeing to receive text messages is optional and is not a condition of applying to or participating in a fair.
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to run the platform, including hosting, analytics, advertising, file storage, customer support, and background check providers. Each operates under their own privacy policy.
We only share the minimum information necessary with these providers, and only for the purposes described above. We do not sell or trade your data with any third party.
The Acton Children's Business Fair serves young entrepreneurs (ages 6-17). We take children's privacy seriously.
Booth applications for minors are submitted by a parent or guardian, and we require parental consent for any child's participation. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without parental involvement.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child without proper consent, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

While no system is 100% secure, we take reasonable precautions to protect your data from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.
Aggregated, anonymized data (such as total number of fairs or participants) may be retained indefinitely for reporting purposes.
