Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Krafty Kids Expo? The Krafty Kids Expo is a one-day, local market where young entrepreneurs are the stars of the show—selling their own products and services to the community. We are proud to utilize the Children’s Business Fair platform to encourage children to discover their inner entrepreneur by launching real businesses and making real sales.
How did the Krafty Kids Expo get started? The Expo was born in 2022 right here in Navarre. The spark came from a simple observation: while our community celebrates academic and athletic achievements, there was a whole group of "makers" and "doers" whose creative talents were flying under the radar. We wanted to create a stage for the kids who choose to build, craft, and innovate. What started as a "heart project" in 2022 exploded into a reality with 20 exhibitors in our first year, and we’ve been growing ever since!
How many businesses will you accept? To ensure a high-quality experience for every participant, we will accept up to 34 businesses.
When is the event, and what if it rains? The Expo is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026. In the event of inclement weather, our official rain date is Saturday, June 13, 2026.
How do I apply? Can I apply as part of a group? Applications must be submitted online. Please submit one application for each business. Children working as a group should submit one application that includes each child’s information (maximum of 3 participants per business). There is a $20 Venue Participation Fee per booth (not per child) due upon acceptance to secure your spot.
Will there be prizes? Yes! On the day of the event, a panel of local judges will visit each booth. We will present awards for:
-
Most Original Business Idea: Celebrating unique concepts and "out-of-the-box" thinking.
-
Highest Business Potential: Recognizing a solid plan, clear pricing, and a viable product.
-
Best Presentation: Awarding the effort put into booth design, branding, and customer interaction.
How will the fair be set up? The fair is an outdoor event. Each business is assigned a 10x10 booth space. You are responsible for bringing your own tent and table(s). (If you need help securing these items, please let us know! It is important to us that every child has the opportunity to participate regardless of equipment.) *Pro-tip: Since we are outdoors, we highly recommend tent weights to keep your shop secure!
Will electricity be available? Unfortunately, we are unable to provide electricity to the booths.
What are the rules? This event is designed for kids to lead. To keep the awards competition fair, the children must be the ones doing the work. If a parent is found actively selling or promoting for them, the business will be ineligible for prizes. Parents of younger children may sit in the booth for support, but exhibitors must be responsible for setup, customer interaction, and sales.
