Frequently asked questions

What is a Children’s Business Fair?

The Children’s Business Fair sparks creativity and entrepreneurial spirit in kids. This one-day event offers children the chance to showcase their very own businesses, bringing their innovative ideas to life in a fun and engaging market.

How many businesses will you accept?

We will accept up to 30 businesses.

Where should I begin?

1. Have a child or children with a business idea. 🌟
2. Ensure the child meets the application requirements.
3. Submit an application. 📝
4. Wait to receive your acceptance email. 📧
5. Start running your child’s business. 🚀

How do I apply? Can I apply as part of a group?

Application must be submitted online. Please submit one application for each business. Children working as a group should submit one application that includes each child’s information. No more than 3 participants per business.

What is on the application?

The application will require the following information:
- Business name
- Name and age of the child entrepreneur
- Description of the product or service being sold
- Parent or guardian assisting the child
- Price range of your product

What are The Requirements for Participation?

- The child must have a business offering products or services for sale.
- A method of receiving payments, such as a cash box or an online payment system, is required.
- Participants are responsible for setting up and decorating their own booths. While some assistance from a parent is allowed, if parents do all the work, the child will be disqualified from business competitions such as Best Display/Setup, Best Customer Service, and Favorite Product.
- There is a $10 booth fee. Please note that all fees will be reinvested into the fair, whether through prize money or other fair-related activities.
- Age requirement: 2 to 17 years old.
- Participants must dress and conduct themselves in a professional manner.

What if someone else has the same business idea?

We aim to minimize duplication of business ideas or products, but we understand that even if the idea is the same, each business owner brings something unique to the table. Therefore, there may be duplicates or similar products, but there's only one creator behind each business.

How will the fair be set up?

The fair will take place indoors inside the gymnasium. Each business will be provided with a table and chairs, but participants are responsible for the setup and decor of their own booth. While electricity will be available, it will be limited.

Will electricity be available?

Yes, electricity will be available. However, please try to limit your need for it, as the availability might be restricted depending on the location of the fair.

What are the rules?

Our goal is to foster independence and creativity in children. While parents are welcome to help with setup and the application process, it's important that the children take the lead in running their business. If a parent is found doing all the work, the business may be disqualified. We want to empower kids by allowing them the freedom to create and manage their own ideas, nurturing their entrepreneurial skills.
