The Children's Entrepreneur Fair is a one-day marketplace where young entrepreneurs (ages 5–17) create, launch, and run their own businesses. As they sell to real customers, they'll build confidence, creativity, communication skills, and financial literacy in a fun, supportive environment.

We will accept up to 40 kid-run businesses for this event. Applications close October 3, 2026, or sooner if all spaces are filled, so we encourage families to apply early.

Children may sell handmade items, artwork, baked goods, crafts, jewelry, games, plants, and many other original products. All businesses must be created and run by the participating child(ren) and comply with the event guidelines and local health and safety regulations.

Applications must be submitted online. If your child plans to participate in more than one business category (such as baked goods and crafts), a separate application is required for each category.

The Children's Entrepreneur Fair is designed to give children a hands-on entrepreneurial experience.

Children should take the lead in setting up their booth, interacting with customers, and making sales.
Parents of younger children are welcome to stay at the booth for support but should allow their child to lead whenever possible.
Parents may assist with the application and preparation, but we encourage children to be involved every step of the way.

Yes! Two children may partner and run one business together. Simply include both children's names on the same application. Each business is limited to two young entrepreneurs and may only participate in one business category.

That's perfectly okay! More than one child can sell similar products. For example, two businesses may both sell cupcakes or jewelry. If a similar business has already registered, we'll let you know so your child can make changes if they'd like—but it's completely their choice.

The fair will be held indoors in the gymnasium at the West New Bern Recreation Center. Each young entrepreneur is responsible for bringing:

One 6-foot table
Chairs
A table covering (recommended)
Products, displays, signs, and any decorations for their booth

We encourage children to create an inviting booth that reflects their business and personality.

No, electricity will not be provided for booths.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Registration fees are fully refundable for written cancellation requests received by October 17, 2026.

Cancellations received October 18–24, 2026, as well as no-shows, are non-refundable.

If the Fair is canceled by the Organizer and cannot be rescheduled, a full refund will be issued. If the event is rescheduled, registrations will automatically transfer to the new date.
