This fair has ended
Find another fairI know you have all been diligently waiting, and are super excited to experience this awesome opportunity. I would like to let everyone know I apologize deeply for the delay. Finding the right place to have this event has been difficult. I had to reschedule because the park that the fair was originally going to be at isn't an appropriate setting for this event. Also, we need more applicants.
So far we only have 11 of the 25 booths accounted for. Please tell your friends and family. But, once we get going and get launched I promise you that the wait will be well worth it. This gives you just a bit more time to make more items to sell and perfect your skills and talent. Thank you for understanding. I will be updating everyone again on the website once we know more about the location. And once we have the location we could possibly reschedule sooner.
Again, thank you for your patience. Remember hard work, dedication with a lot of patience will set the foundation for you as a young entrepreneur.
Sincerely,
Valerie and Jalani (11)

We will host 25 booths at the 1st Childrens Business Fair of Thurston county on May 27th, 2023 from 11:00am-4:00pm. Observe the opportunity for children to launch their very own startup business! Kids develop a brand, create a product or service, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers at our one-day marketplace.
SwagSpaz Kid’s is a parent-kid owned and operated business that supports this mission that Acton School of Business is allowing us to host. We are excited to bring this creative, fun, and educationally career-oriented fair that is ran by: the kids. Here in Thurston County and all over Washibgtin our youth are in need of some healthy activities. And we are a perfect fit for the calling. SwagSpaz Kid’s encourages all youth in grades K - 9th grade to apply.
This is a perfect time to show off your skills, talent and qualifications. What do you know how to make, do or show that will gain profit. Do you tell fortunes, can you do card tricks, make slime, paint pictures, make bracelets? Whatever you do, I am confident it will be awesome. Let’s get together and invite the community to come to YOUR business fair. Make some money and show off your stuff. This is the perfect time to SwagSpaz. Why? Cuz we Spaz With Swag. This event is going to be the talk of the town, and a memorable learning experience you will remember for a lifetime.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Acton Children’s Business Fair?
- The Acton Children’s Business Fair inspires children to discover their inner entrepreneur. The largest entrepreneurship event for kids in North America, this one-day market gives children the opportunity to showcase their very own businesses.
- We will accept up to 36 businesses.
- Start with our resources page. Read inspiring stories about other young entrepreneurs and play games to hone your business skills.
- Application must be submitted online. Please submit one application for each business. Children working as a group should submit one application that includes each child’s information. No more than 3 participants per business.
- The application asks kids to think through some simple, but important elements of their business:
- What product or service do you plan to sell?
- What price will you charge for each product/service? How much will each product/service cost you?
- How will you pay for your startup costs? If someone is helping you with your startup costs, how will you pay that person back?
- How will you advertise/market your business before the fair?
- At the end of the fair, how will you determine if your business was a success?
- Two cupcake businesses? Not a problem. In general, we will let market forces play out, though we will let later entries know if another applicant has a similar idea so the later entrant can decide what to do.
- The fair will be a tented outdoor event with booths. Each business will be given a booth with an 8-foot table (to share with one other business), full-cover tenting, and 1-2 chairs. Table cloths will not be provided. We are not able to accommodate businesses requiring electricity.
- Unfortunately, we are not able to provide electricity to the booths.
- This event is designed to give children the experience of selling a product or service. If a parent is found selling or promoting a child’s product or service, their child’s business will be disqualified from the competition.
- Parents of younger children may sit in the booth, but the children should be responsible for set up, customer interaction, and sales.
- Parents may help their child fill out the application, but we expect the children to do as much as possible by themselves.
- Jeff and Laura Sandefer and a few other families wanted to spark a sense of wonder and entrepreneurship in their children so they created the first Acton Children’s Business Fair in Austin, Texas, in 2007. That year, there were seven entrepreneurs and around 25 attendees. Now, there are over 115 entrepreneurs and 1,500 attendees at the Acton Children's Business Fair in Austin.
