About the fair
PLEASE NOTE that this fair is FULL and any applications submitted will be placed on our waitlist.

The Tampa Children's Business Fair is a non-profit, business/craft fair where all of the business owners are local children! Our one-day events are a culmination of ideas and hard work from great young minds in our community. Our "KIDPRENEURS," ages 6-16, develop a brand, create a product or service, build a marketing strategy, plan the cost of goods and pricing, and then open for customers at our fair. We invite the community to shop and support these creative and driven children as they learn beginning business strategies and experience the process of entrepreneurship. Having the children plan and execute their own business at every level allows them to understand the importance of hard work, take responsibility, and gain confidence in the next challenge.

We also have a Business Competition portion of each event where the Kidpreneurs can win awards and prizes! Local business owners volunteer to be judges and score each booth during the fair. When the shopping time at the fair concludes, we have an awards ceremony where each age group has a winner for "Best Presentation,” "Most Creative Idea," and "Highest Business Potential."

There is no cost to apply. But if accepted, there will be a $25 booth fee per business to participate in the fair. An invoice to pay will be emailed to you before the event.

Thank you for your interest in the Tampa Children’s Business Fair and for supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs! Please feel free to email us at Support@TampaCBF.org if you have any questions.

My name is Danielle, and I started Tampa Children's Business Fair as a fun way for my kids to learn valuable life skills through entrepreneurship. Our nonprofit is growing quickly and I am so thankful for all of the amazing "Kidpreneurs" that have become a part of the TCBF family so far! Please join us as we support the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Frequently asked questions

How many businesses will you accept?

We will accept up to 75 businesses.

Is there a cost to participate?

There is no cost to apply. But if accepted, there will be a $25 booth fee per business to participate in the fair. An invoice to pay and waiver will be emailed to you before the event.

How do I apply? Can I apply as part of a group?

Applications must be submitted online. Please submit one application for each business. Children working as a group should submit one application that includes each child’s information. No more than 3 participants per business.

What is on the application?

The application asks kids to think through some simple, but important elements of their business:

  • What product or service do you plan to sell?
  • What price will you charge for each product/service? How much will each product/service cost you?
  • How will you pay for your startup costs? If someone is helping you with your startup costs, how will you pay that person back?
  • How will you advertise/market your business before the fair?
  • At the end of the fair, how will you determine if your business was a success?

How will the fair be set up?

The fair will be an indoor event. Each business will be given a booth with a 6 foot table and 1-2 chairs. Table cloths will not be provided. We are not able to accommodate businesses requiring electricity.

Will electricity be available?

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide electricity to the booths.

What are the rules?

This event is designed to give children the experience of selling a product or service. If a parent is found selling or promoting a child’s product or service, their child’s business will be disqualified from the competition.

Parents of younger children may sit in the booth, but the children should be responsible for set up, customer interaction, and sales.

Parents may help their child fill out the application, but we expect the children to do as much as possible by themselves.
