Frequently asked questions
The Acton Children’s Business Fair inspires children to discover their inner entrepreneur. The largest entrepreneurship event for children in North America, this one-day market gives children the opportunity to showcase their very own businesses. Homeschool Community 805 launched the 805 Children’s Business Fair and has planned fairs across Ventura County throughout the year. Follow @the805childrensbusinessfair on instagram to stay up to date.
We will accept up to 40 businesses.
Application must be submitted online. Please submit one application for each business. Children working as a group should submit one application that includes each child’s information. No more than 3 participants per business.
Two cupcake businesses? Not a problem. In general, we will let market forces play out, though we will let later entries know if another applicant has a similar idea so the later entrant can decide what to do.
The fair will be a tented outdoor event with booths. Each business needs to provide their own table and canopy or umbrella. We are not able to accommodate businesses requiring electricity. The event will be held outdoors on a farm on dirt ground.
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide electricity to the booths.
This event is designed to give children the experience of selling a product or service.
No, we accept students from all learning styles ages 4+. The 805 Children’s Business Fair is sponsored by many businesses that collaborate with Homeschool Community 805, however we are opening this opportunity to all students. All of our youth entrepreneurs are so incredible that you can’t even tell which ones are homeschooled or not! We love supporting everyone in the community 💚
