A kidpreneur is a kid with a business. More and more as we pour into our young people, we are seeing their passions and interests turn into brands and resources that gets them paid! This free event is to celebrate them and support their businesses!

Customized Community Market is hosting our 3rd Kidpreneur Expo on Saturday, October 23rd from 12 noon to 5pm! This is an outdoor event, we encourage everyone to wear a mask, but they are not required for entry. We will be located across from Target in the Brandywine Crossing Shopping Center in Brandywine, Maryland. The physical address is 15924 Crain Highway, Brandywine, Maryland 20613.

Our kidpreneurs that are showcasing their businesses will have products for skin care, hair care, fashion, jewelry, desserts and more! Bring your children and watch them be inspired by their peers!

We are proud to announce that this event is sponsored by Acton Academy, the Acton School of Business, and Chick-fil-A of Brandywine, Maryland.

We invite you to join us at Customized Community Market and to bring the whole family to attend our Kidpreneur Expo! Let's support and empower our young entrepreneurs to keep setting and achieving their goals!

Frequently asked questions

Where is Customized Community Market located at?

Customized Community Market has multiple locations both indoor and outdoor in the Southern Maryland area.

How often does Customized Community Market have events?

Customized Community Market has multiple events a month from Spring to Winter seasons. Our Kidpreneur Expo happens once a month.

What is the Acton Children’s Business Fair?

The Acton Children’s Business Fair inspires children to discover their inner entrepreneur. The largest entrepreneurship event for kids in North America, this one-day market gives children the opportunity to showcase their very own businesses.

How many businesses will you accept for the Kidpreneur Expo?

We will accept up to 30 businesses.

How do I register my child to showcase at the Kidpreneur Expo?

Visit https://www.customizedcommunitymarket.com and select "Vendor Information" from the website menu. Scroll until you see the flyer for the Kidpreneur Expo (purple in color) and October 23rd, click RSVP and it will then direct you to complete the registration form.

Can I register as part of a group?

Please submit one form for each business. Children working as a group should submit one form that includes each child’s information. No more than 3 participants per business.

What if someone else has the same business idea?

Two cupcake businesses? Not a problem. In general, we will let market forces play out, though we will let later entries know if another applicant has a similar idea so the later entrant can decide what to do. If both businesses want to showcase, they will be put on opposite ends of the market.

How will the market be set up?

The market will be an outdoor event with booths. Each vendor will be given a 10x20 space to set up their business displays. Please let us know on your registration form if you need assistance with anything.

Will electricity be available?

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide electricity to the booths.

Are there any rules?

This event is designed to give children the experience of selling a product or service. If a parent is found selling or promoting a child’s product or service, their child’s business will be disqualified from further participation.

Parents of younger children may sit in the booth, but the children should be responsible for set up, customer interaction, and sales.

Parents may help their child fill out the application, but we expect the children to do as much as possible by themselves.

How did the Acton Children’s Business Fair get started?

Jeff and Laura Sandefer and a few other families wanted to spark a sense of wonder and entrepreneurship in their children so they created the first Acton Children’s Business Fair in Austin, Texas, in 2007. That year, there were seven entrepreneurs and around 25 attendees. Now, there are over 115 entrepreneurs and 1,500 attendees at the Acton Children's Business Fair in Austin.
