This year is a new opportunity in light of the pandemic! We are unable to use the public park this year and so we are planning a VIRTUAL FAIR…. We will host up to 60 VIRTUAL booths at the 6th annual AZ Children’s Business Fair on Saturday November 21, 2020 from 10 am – 12 pm.
AZ Children’s Business Fair is partnering with MyFirstSale, an online entrepreneurship training program and e-commerce marketplace for kids.
- For just $47 per booth/tent, the MyFirstSale platform includes:
- 12-hour training, prep, and launch course leading up to the event
- comprehensive launch checklist to maximize sales on business fair day
- one-stop online shop for each kid entrepreneur to make sales transactions, track goals and progress, share lessons learned, and receive badges for hitting milestones
- one-year access after the event for kids to grow and continue selling if they so choose
- detailed tracking of kid vendor sales for awards and recognition
- capacity for kids to receive sponsorships from local businesses and highlight them during the event
- ability to increase sales of each kid vendor since shoppers don’t have to be present to buy

This event is sponsored by Acton Academy Phoenix, the Acton School of Business and the generous support of our donors and volunteers. We all believe that principled entrepreneurs are heroes and role models for the next generation.
Whether an entrepreneur is famous like Elon Musk or Oprah Winfrey or they are one of the thousands of unsung business owners across this country, these are the people who make sacrifices to innovate, create jobs and serve their communities.

What if someone else has the same business idea?
Two cupcake businesses? Not a problem. In general, we will let market forces play out, though we will let later entries know if another applicant has a similar idea so the later entrant can decide what to do.
How will the fair be set up?
The fair will be virtual this year - check out this video of what it will look like: https://vimeo.com/468334052

The booth fee will be $47 per booth/tent (not per child) to sign up at MyFirstSale. See the main page for everything included in this price.
What are the rules?
This event is designed to give children the experience of selling a product or service. If a parent is found selling or promoting a child’s product or service, their child’s business will be disqualified from the competition.
Parents of younger children will need to help the children login to MyFirstSale, complete the online curriculum, and provide some assistance to set up their store page. However, the children should be responsible for product making and marketing of their products, customer interaction, and sales.
Parents may help their child fill out the application, but we expect the children to do as much as possible by themselves.
This opportunity is for kids in Kindergarten - 8th grade. Sorry but we do not accept high school students.

How did the Acton Children’s Business Fair get started?
Jeff and Laura Sandefer and a few other families wanted to spark a sense of wonder and entrepreneurship in their children so they created the first Acton Children’s Business Fair in Austin, Texas, in 2007. That year, there were seven entrepreneurs and around 25 attendees. Now, there are over 115 entrepreneurs and 1,500 attendees at the Acton Children's Business Fair in Austin.
