The 2011 Children’s Business Fair will host 100 booths at the 5th Annual event, to be held on the lawn of the Pease Mansion on Saturday, October 22, 2011.
Due to the phenomenal growth we have experienced over the past four years, coupled with our space limitations, we have capped the number of booths at 100. Please note that we limited the number of businesses in specific categories. (ie: There will not be 5 lemonade stands.) Booth applications will be judged on a variety of criteria, including: creativity, business potential, and thoroughness.
Important Info:
- This year’s event is open to children between the ages of 6 – 13, whose applications have been accepted.
- Cash prizes of $50 will be awarded for Highest Business Potential, Best Presentation, and Most Original Business Idea in 3 age categories (6 – 8, 9 – 10, and 11 – 13).
- No more than 4 participants per booth (business idea).
- $50 cash prizes will be paid to the winning individual or split among the winning members of a team.
- Please submit one application for each business. Children planning on working as a group may submit one application with all children’s info. If children of different age groups prepare a booth together, they will be judged in the age group of the oldest participant.
- If accepted to have a booth in the Children’s Business Fair, a $10 booth fee will be collected on the day of the event.
- Electricity is not provided.
- Parents of younger children may sit in their booth, but the children are to be responsible for sales and interacting with the customers. This event is designed to give children a taste of selling a product, please let them have that experience.
- Please note that you may help your child fill out the booth application, but depending on their age, they are expected to do as much as possible by themselves.
- The $10.00 entry fee for each booth shall be paid upon admittance to the fair. This fee MUST have been earned through the child’s business OR borrowed from an investor (parent/assisting adult) with the expectation that it will be repaid in a timely manner.
